KNOWING HE KNOWS… WHAT A COMFORT

Last week, I went to Makati to pick my son up after playing tennis. I went to Makati Sports Club. While I was there I swung by Victory Makati’s Tuesday night service. Pastor LA’s doing an awesome job leading the team there.

After chatting with one of our top leaders, Po Seng, I called Nathan to tell him I was already by the swimming pool. He told me to meet me at the tennis court. After going to the court, I called him and the conversation went this way:

Me: I’m here. Where are you?
Nathan: I’m at the tennis court.
Me: I AM at the court.
Nathan: Me too.
Me: The one by the pool?
Nathan: What pool?
Me: Here in Makati Sports.
Nathan: Huh? I’m in Manila Polo Club.

Not only was it a miscom, but if only I had super powers to know everything, I’d know his exact location.

Aren’t you glad God’s not like us? (or worse,  like me…)

God is ALL-KNOWING. Here are a few things about His omniscience.

1. His knowledge is absolutely comprehensive.

Nothing escapes Him. There’s nothing that can surprise Him or happen without His knowledge.

You’ll never hear Him say, “Really? I didn’t know about that.”

“For a man’s ways are in full view of the LORD, and he examines all his paths.” (Prov. 5:21)

2. God has perfect knowledge of all that is in nature.

He knows all the events before they happen and when they happen.

In all of creation, His eye is on – tsunamis to tornados, sunrise to sunset, summer to spring.

“He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.” (Ps. 147:4)

3. God has perfect knowledge of all that transpires in human experience.

The Israelites thought God wasn’t hearing their cry. Apparently He did. He was just preparing a deliverer. It took some time but His timing was impeccable.

The LORD said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering.” (Ex. 3:7)

4. God has perfect knowledge of all that transpires in human history.

History is his story therefore all that happens He divinely orchestrates.

Everything that goes on in your life and mine, He sees, knows and either caused it or knows how it started.

“Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the ages.” (Acts 15:8)

5. God knows – from, all eternity to all eternity what will take place.

He knows every thing about every body every time.

He is not intimidated by forever for He holds forever in His hands.

What an awesome God!

“I am God… Declaring the end from the beginning. And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established,  And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’. (Isaiah 46:9-10)
