I was reviewing the lyrics of Lady Gaga’s new song, JUDAS because I want to be able to explain to my kids what it means in case they hear it over the radio.
I’m in love with Judas
In the Most Biblical sense,
I am beyond repentance
Fame hooker, prostitute wrench, vomits her mind
But in the cultural sense
I just speak in future tense
Judas kiss me if offenced
Or wear an ear condom next time
I wanna love you,
But something’s pulling me away from you
Jesus is my virtue
Judas is the demon I cling to
I cling to
None of us are beyond repentance for we are told that “God’s kindness is what leads us to repentance.” (Romans 2:4).
“Lady Gaga, just look at how I’ve blessed you in spite, took care of you even if, loved you no matter what.”
Hooker, prostitute wench as you say. That is what happened to all my creation. They have prostituted themselves to sin in the name of pleasure. For all have sinned and fall short of My glory. (Romans 3:23) Yet I demonstrated the full extent of my love that while you were still in your sins, I sent Jesus to die for all your sins. (Romans 5:8)
For it is by My grace that you are saved. Not by good works. It’s a gift that comes from me so that none of you can boast. (Eph. 2:8-9)
There’s only One that you are to cling to – Me, Jesus – the One who has loved you from the beginning and will continue to love you. Just turn away and turn to me. Salvation is found in no one else but me. (Acts 4:12).
My Father loved the world so much He sent His one and only Son so that if those that believe in Me, they will have life eternal. (John 3:16)
