LIFE WELL LIVED

Haven’t been able to blog lately. Too many things going on. Stuff… EN2010… Victory Fort… etc.

The one major thing that has hit hard was the passing away of a dear dear friend, Maileen Hern.

Our prayers go to Robert, Betthia and Shaun.

Her last tweet: “There are things I dont understand, questions I want to raise. But I should know my place & praise YOU instead.”

She didn’t only tweet this, she lived it out.

An awesome colleague, shining example and wonderful friend.

Mai, thanks for sharing your life with us.

  1. Hi, Pastor! (We always see you in church but never had the guts to approach you and say “hi”. Hehe).

Anyway, sorry to hear that you’ve lost a good friend. How is she related to Pastor Robert? Please extend my condolences with his family. Thank you!

  2. pls do say hi one of these days after service. 🙂

maileen hern is the wife of pastor robert hern. pls pray for pastor robert and their 2 girls.

  3. Pastor Robert is one of my favorite pastor in Victory Pioneer where we usually attend…I’ve seen his kids already but I haven’t seen his wife…But I’m sure that she is a good and loving woman not only to her family but to others too. I’m also shocked and sad about that news…Condolence to Pastor Robert and to her family.God is so faithful and He just work on His ways..

  4. hi pastor pao, i’m so glad i got to attend last night’s service… altho we had to hurry home as my cough had begun to get worse bec i was out, but i didn’t mind at all… it was very touching to hear the euologies by ate jenn, ms marie and ms jiji…especially about her last days at the hospital (i’m so grateful they shared their intimate moments with her)

gabe cried after greeting pastor robert…he told me later on that he still could not imagine the kind of pain of this loss…he was grieving FOR ptr Robert, and yet seeing ptr Robert standing there, greeting people people, making everyone feel welcome, thanking everyone and being his usual (sort of) joking self every now and then…just blew him away. =,( especially now i understand, being married, he must be imagining what he would do if it had happened to him (he wouldn’t let go the entire service!). I pray that if God wills it so, that we would be just as faithful, just as strong, and just as trusting in God as Pastor Robert was…

as we were leaving, i told him one of our favorite memories of Ms Mai was spending time with her during our last singles retreat. She and Gabe were dressed as The Matrix characters during Hollywood night. =)

  5. @diane: i super admire robert for the strength he exhibits. but we do know that that strength has to come for somewhere else. God’s been showing grace to their family in this time of grieving. thanks for standing with them

  6. Hi Pastor Pao,

I’m in San Francisco and my heart goes for Pastor Robert and children. I love Pastor Robert! I know the feeling…it’s a very sweet sorrow for a loved one who has become physically absent. Thank God for a God centered life. Pastor Robert’s life will with his two lovely girls will be the best ever!!
