HOW BIG IS YOUR GOD?

I’m excited about our new series.  It will help us grab a better perspective about the BIGNESS of our God – that He is unchanging, all knowing, all powerful and ever present.

Here’s an intro video for this series.

SONG FOR SUNDAY

As we prepare for the new series, INFINITUDE, I discovered my new favorite song.

“Everlasting God” by Ross Parsley and the Desperation Band.

You need to listen and muse on the lyrics.  It will blow you away.  Super simple yet so powerful.

EVERLASTING GOD

One thing I know that I have found
Through all the troubles that surround
You are the Rock that never fails, You never fail

One thing I know that I believe
Through every blessing I receive
You are the only One that stays, You always stay

CHORUS

You never change, You’re still the same
You are the Everlasting God
You will remain after the day is gone
and the things of earth have passed
Everlasting God

“DID YOU HEAR WHAT I SAID?”

I feel this is a question God would probably need to ask me every so often.  As I journey in this life of faith, missing out on what He said is a major possibility.

In Luke chapter 8, we find the story of Jesus calming the storm.

Right before they got onto the boat to go to the other side of the lake, Jesus said,

“Let’s go over to the other side of the lake.” (Luke 8:22)

How important was that statement?  Very…

Once the squall came, we find the disciples panicking while Jesus was sleeping.

Too often we find ourselves panicking when squalls come.  But if we listen to what He said, then maybe, just maybe we won’t find ourselves in a panic.

“Let us go over the other side of the lake.”

He didn’t say ‘let’s go under’.  He didn’t say, ’see you in heaven.’  Neither did He say, ‘It was great to have met you guys.’

He said let us go over the other side.

His next question was, “Where is your faith?” (Luke 8:25)

Another mistake we often commit – our eyes on our circumstances rather than on the God of the circumstances.

Lord, teach us to rest on who You are and  what You’ve said in Your Word.

JUST A GOOD ACTOR

We try to curb whining in our home.  Consistency is always a challenge.

Our 7-year-old daughter  (at that time when this happened) did it when she wasn’t able to get what she wanted.

Ryan, our 3-year-old son said, “Mom, I don’t like that sound.”

My wife replied by saying, “Well, Ryan, you also whine sometimes.”

To this he said, “No, mom, I’m just a good actor.”

CHICKEN MOMMY

We were having a meal together as a family.

Janina was eating “Lucky Me” chicken mami noodles.

Jenn asked Ryan a question who was 3 years old at that time, “Ryan, do you want chicken mami?”

Almost in tears and with a confused face, Ryan replies,

“No, I don’t like!!! I want YOU, mom…not a chicken mommy.”
